ENCORE! A CIA VARIETY SHOW

SEMESTER 1 PRODUCTION (Year 2 and above)

Why should the lead roles get all the fun? It’s time to give EVERYONE a turn in the spotlight!

While a musical is more of a team sport, with a large chorus and a few leads, a variety show allows us to put together our own collection of scenes, sketches and songs – designed especially to showcase all the wonderful talents of our students.

Encore! is our 2025 Term 1 production, an upscale variety show featuring highlights from some of our most beloved musicals: Annie, Moana, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, The Greatest Showman, Legally Blonde, and of course, Wicked. These will be interspersed with acting pieces, singing spotlights and dance numbers, with every performer featuring in at least two segments.

Rehearsals begin early February before the school year heats up. There are just 6 rehearsals at the Thomas Dixon Centre, followed by 2 performances in the magnificent Talbot Theatre on Sunday 16th March.

The cast will be divided into junior and senior age groups, working with their peers throughout the rehearsal process. Under the guidance of experienced theatre professionals, students will elevate their stage skills and unleash their star potential.

This fee covers 21+ hours of expert tuition and the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a theatre with state-of-the-art facilities.

BROADWAY BOOTCAMP

1-Day Song & Dance Workshop

Musical lovers rejoice! This year, CIA is introducing a series of 1-day workshops for aspiring singers and dancers. For our first Broadway Bootcamp, students will learn iconic songs and choreography from two beloved smash-hits:

Six – a modern pop musical retelling the lives of Henry VIII’s six ill-fated wives
and

Wicked – the gravity-defying prequel to The Wizard of Oz, recently adapted into a critically-acclaimed movie starring Ariana Grande.

In this high-energy workshop, budding stage stars will learn from expert teachers with first-hand experience performing in professional productions of these very musicals. Students will sharpen their skills while gaining industry insider tips from the pros.

No previous performance experience is required, so whether you’re a musical maestro or new to the theatre, Broadway Bootcamp will provide the perfect combination of top-quality tuition and non-stop fun – all in one day.
